Restaurants at Tiger Town
Chick-fil-A and Logan's Roadhouse will build freestanding restaurants on out parcels of the center, while Quiznos will occupy "in-line" space in the center. All three eateries are scheduled to be open by summer 2005.
TigerTown's first phase, which includes TJ Maxx, Office Depot, Old Navy, Ross Dress for Less, Home Depot, Best Buy, Hibett Sports, Shoe Dept, and Petco, is now open and Phase II construction is underway, said Tom Newton, senior partner of Newton Oldacre McDonald, the developer of the property.
Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc., the nations' second-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain (based on sales), currently has more than 1,170 restaurants in 37 states and D.C. The restaurant chain, credited with inventing the chicken sandwich and first introducing the chicken nuggets, has 57 Stores in Alabama. The TigerTown location will be the first full-service Chick-fil-A in the Opelika-Auburn market.
Quiznos' TigerTown restaurant will be the second in the Opelika-Auburn market and among nearly 3,500 restaurants in 15 countries for the Italian-style sandwich shop.
Logan's Roadhouse, modeled after 1930's and 1940's roadhouses, has 112 restaurants in 17 states, but this will be the first for the Opelika-Auburn MSA. Logan's menu features a wide variety of casual foods including steaks hand-cut on premise; baby-back ribs; mesquite-grilled chicken; appetizers; salads and seafood.
"TigerTown has become the new retail of east Alabama, and it will soon be the restaurant hub as well," Newton said. In addition to Chick-fil-A, Logan's Roadhouse and Quiznos, Longhorn Steaks and Arby's have recently opened in the area, joining O'Charley's, which opened last year. "We hope to be able to announce two more TigerTown restaurants by the end of this year," he added.
TigerTown is located at the intersection of Interstate 85 and Highway 280. When completed, TigerTown will contain more than 800,000 square feet of retail space as well as freestanding restaurants, banks, office, and hotel sites.
