Applications are accepted for current job openings only with the exception of: Police Officer, Fire Fighter, and Communications Operator. All applicants must complete an official City of Opelika Employment Application to be considered for any vacancy. Professional level applicants are encouraged to submit a resume in addition to the completed application.
The Human Resources Department recruits and refers applicants for available openings, conducts pre-employment checks to include drug test, criminal history and reference checks; however the hiring department is responsible for interviewing and selecting candidates.
Applications for employment are taken at the Alabama State Employment Service on Frederick Road or can be picked up at 205 S. 6th Street, Opelika, AL 36801 Available Positions at the City. There are currently no position openings with the City.
