| Summer Swing Concerts in the Park |

The 2009 Summer Swing Concerts in the Park will begin Tuesday May 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Municipal Park. Every Tuesday evening beginning May 13, 2008, the Opelika Parks and Recreation Department hosts a free outdoor concert at 7:00 p.m. at Municipal Park in Opelika Alabama. This 14-week concert series offers a wide variety of musical entertainment including Gospel, Jazz, R & B, Oldies, Country, Big Band Swing, Folk, and Community Band music. Come out early! June 17th The Cornerstone Band and also the Sons of Asaph will present a Night of Praise. Contemporary Christian music and more to inspire you. June 24th Kidd Blue A true Lee county original. Formed in 1985 as an off shoot of Robert Orr’s jazz ensemble called “Off Ramp”, July 8th – Crossroads Provides an opportunity for listeners to enjoy the vocal talents of Jessica Wilson. The band explores less frequently covered material, such as Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and even a little R.E.M.. Moving through contemporary and classic rock, country, and folk music provides audiences with a unique and entertaining experience. The group and it's members hail from July 15th Muse – 20th year on the Summer Swing Bandstand!
