Mayor Gary Fuller and Stephen Dawe, the Chief Technology Officer for the City of Opelika's IT Department, honored Mr. Tony Aycock at the October 2nd, 2012 meeting of the Opelika City Council, presenting him with an "Atta Boy" award from the mayor. Tony was nominated for the award by Stephen Dawe, who presented the following reasons for the nomination:
Tony Aycock began his employment with the city of Opelika on October 25th, 2004 as the GIS Administrator in the IT Department.
He has performed all of his duties in an outstanding manner. His willingness to help, and his personable nature, patience, and concern for GIS and IT customer has been at a truly high level and has earned him many accolades from the employees who have needed his help.
Tony has assisted almost every department in the City and his services have always been prompt and correct, whether it is assisting OPD with mobile or Dispatch mapping issues, helping the planning department generate maps and diagrams for meetings with the public, or providing OPS with mapping services so they can complete their mission, Tony has ensured everyone has gotten the services and maps they require.
Tony has assisted the IT department in every project it has undertaken, and without the dedication Tony has shown to his job and to the city, these projects would have taken longer to complete – or may have failed altogether.
Tony’s job performance has been truly exceptional. He has established a very professional reputation and is highly respected by everyone he interacts with, both co-workers and members of the community. Regardless of the task or its complexity, Tony stands out in his ability to get the job done effectively and quickly. His desire to do a great job and his attention to detail serves him well and reflects his professionalism and exceptional qualities.
