On Monday, April 5th Opelika city and community leaders will gather near the intersection of 8th Street and 2nd Avenue in Opelika to officially kick off the opening of the 2010 Opelika Azalea and Dogwood Trail with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Opelika Chamber of Commerce. The Azalea and Dogwood Trail has been long-standing highlight of the spring season in Opelika for two decades. For the trail, the Opelika High School Key Club, under the leadership of Jason Bryant, have put up signs to guide visitors form the starting point at the intersection of 8th Street and 2nd Avenue in Opelika, through the neighborhood and back to the trail end at 6th Street and 2nd Avenue. Trail directional cards are also available at the Opelika Chamber of Commerce.
