On the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving of every year the Opelika Chamber of Commerce puts on the city's annual Christmas parade to officially bring in the Christmas season! It's a great time for family and friends to gather in beautiful, historic downtown Opelika and see everybody's favorite - a great parade! This year's event was just that...and although we say it every year (because it's true!), this year's parade was the best one yet! Below are just some of the pictures from Opelika's 2008 Christmas parade! (Special thanks to Mr. Robert Noles for providing the pictures of the parade!)
Each year Opelika's Police Department leads the way!
Coach Spence McCrackin was this year's Grand Marshall. The Opelika High School Band followed closely behind the coach!

This was the "first year" for Opelika's two new City Council members, Mr. Larry Gray (Ward 2) and Mr. Joey Motley (Ward 3)

The festivities wouldn't be complete without Santa and Mrs. Claus visiting our great city - and they graced us with their presence again this year! Merry Christmas, Opelika! May all of the joys of the season be with you and your family!
